- * The Children’s Room is on the bottom floor where you can find books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and toys.
The Children’s Room brings the best of children’s books to young readers, for enjoyment and
for research. Holdings include picture books, board books, easy readers, juvenile books, both fiction
and nonfiction, reference, magazines, paperbacks, videos, compact discs, audio cassettes,
and book-cassette read-a-longs.
A computer is available in the Children’s Room with educational games for young patrons.
Pre-school Story Times are held during the school year.
Other events include a 4-week Summer Fest with enrichment
programs each day. Summer Reading Club and a Children’s Summer Theatre are part of the fun.
All programs are free to the public.
- * Our friendly Children’s Librarian can help you find what you are looking for or make suggestions.
- * Please bring you card with you and periodically update the information in the system.
- * During the school year when school is in session, Mrs. Todd has pre-school Story Time at
10 pm on Wednesdays. It is not held if school is canceled or if it falls during school vacation.
The last Story Time
of the season was May 25, 2011 at 10am. Story Time will return in September.
- * Each summer, the Children’s Room organizes a Summer Fest of programs for all children, a reading program and a Childrens’ Theatre production.
This keeps everyone busy during June and July. All are welcome.

Auditions for the Rumford Public Library’s Children’s Theatre prodution of "A Bug’s Life" for actors age 5 - 15
will be held Wednesday, June 1 at 6pm and Thursday, June 2 at 6pm in the Library Public Room. Older teens are needed for backstage, stage and tech support.
The production date is July 28, 2011. FMI: call Susan DeRoehn at 418-7813 or Mrs. Todd at the Library (364-3661).

you can check with the Reference Librarian for an ILL.

or through the Mainecat catalog. We are part of the van
delivery service, which facilitates getting items from library to library. If you need assistance with a book’s
